Vision:

The provision of community support services to the North Porirua community in response to identified social needs.

Values:

The North Porirua Care Centre will provide services to our community without regard to culture, gender, religion or economic standing, meeting needs not met by other services.

 

The North Porirua Care Centre believes in a strong network of services to benefit to the North Porirua community and beyond in order for every person to have hope and know a pathway to healing and wholeness.

 

Trust OBJECTS:

  1. To respond, out of Christian compassion, to the needs of individuals and families in Porirua and beyond. By providing support for families by offering education and social services for those suffering poverty and hardship.
  2. To be primarily focussed on families and emotional/relational brokenness. Where there is a genuine need or hardship.
  3. To work holistically, in order to meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the people in Porirua and beyond. By providing counselling, social services and education.
  4. As circumstances dictate, to provide a range of other targeted services and events for youth who are suffering poverty and hardship.
  5. To carry out such other charitable purposes within New Zealand as the Board shall determine after consultation with the Oversight Board.

    Care Centre Management Objectives:

    • To provide accessible and affordable support services targeting unaddressed needs in North Porirua;
    • To increase the number and types of support services provided through the Trust; and
    • To provide support services in an independent and financially viable manner. 

    Short term goals: 1-3 years:

    • To gain funding from a wide range of community sources, fundraising activities and donations.
    • To become financially independent/self sustaining.
    • To increase volunteer and paid staffing.
    • To expand into new areas within North Porirua.

    Long term goal:

    • To review the direction of the Care Centre and formulate a 5 year plan.
    • To establish an identity as a community service provider meeting social, poverty and holistic health needs.
